TAKING THE BIOCLUSTERS MESSAGE TO KOREA

Meredith Lloyd-Evans, Managing Director of BioBridge Ltd, is off to Korea to help make links and liaisons with biotechnology activities there. He will be presenting at the International Symposium on Biotechnology Policy and Clusters on 14th October in Cheung-ju City, one of South Korea's foremost University towns outside Seoul itself.

"Korea is quite far advanced in many of the sectors in which BioBridge is active, including agricultural biotechnology, animal health, human health and frontier medicine," said Meredith. "I'll be meeting University people and companies who have expressed interest in tying-up with their UK counterparts as well as discussing more formal linkages with the regional government and bioclusters in Korea."

Meredith has been invited by the organisers, the Korean Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, to represent the UK regional biotechnology association, ERBI, and to talk

about bioclusters in UK and Europe, of which the East of England, especially the Cambridge region, is one of the foremost examples. "This is an ideal opportunity to find out what is going on and to help establish international initiatives in human and animal health."
